We receive many inquiries about what makes a stay at Poppy’s Pad so unique. Based in Kingswinford, we offer an exclusive, premium boarding experience tailored entirely to your dog's needs. Here is a glimpse into what your beloved pet will experience:

• Exclusive 1-on-1 Attention: I only accept bookings from one household at a time. This ensures your dog receives dedicated 24/7 care, love, and affection in a calm, stress-free environment.

• Complete Freedom: Your dog will have full, unrestricted access to both the home and the secure gardens.

• Home Comforts: If your dog enjoys sleeping on the bed at home, they are more than welcome to choose whichever bed they prefer here. If your dog is unable to manage the stairs, I will happily sleep downstairs with them.

• Daily Adventures & Relaxation: Unless specified otherwise, guests enjoy 2 to 3 walks a day.

• Peace of Mind: You will receive regular updates and photos throughout their stay so you can see exactly how much fun they are having.

The Story Behind Poppy’s Pad

Poppy’s Pad was born out of a deep love for a very special soul. Poppy was an 18-year-old rescue Lurcher cross who was found years ago in the middle of a road, frightened and confused. At the time, my home was filled with a large animal family—Bullmastiffs, a Cane Corso, a cat, and several birds. I didn't hesitate to take her in. When the vet later informed me that her future looked bleak and she would have to go to the warden, she officially became a permanent part of our family.

Poppy outlived all of her fur brothers and sisters, eventually being outlived only by Gracie the Cockatiel. It was during this time that Poppy and I decided to start a home boarding business. She possessed an incredibly calm, gentle influence on all animals. Tragically, as we began this journey, Poppy was diagnosed with Lymphoma. I immediately put everything on hold to dedicate all my time and care to her.

Poppy fought bravely and made it to her 18th birthday, celebrating with cake, treats, and a special local day out. A few days later, she peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge to reunite with her old family.

Though we started with a 3-star rating, I am incredibly proud to share that Poppy’s Pad has officially been awarded the highest 5-Star Council Rating. This business stands as a living memory to my soulmate, Poppy, who taught me so much.

Because Poppy’s Pad offers an exclusive, single-household experience, calendar dates book up very quickly.

Pricing Update (Effective August 2026)

To maintain the exceptionally high standard of care your dogs receive, rates will be £40.00 per day starting August 2026.

While I always strive to keep costs stable despite rising inflation, this premium rate reflects a truly all-inclusive luxury experience. Your dogs don't just stay here—they join me on exciting day trips to the seaside and daily outings for toast or special treats, all at no extra cost to you.

Flexible Timing: Unlike many boarding services, I do not charge extra for early or late drop-offs and pick-ups. I prefer to work flexibly with you to accommodate your travel schedule.

Booking Policy

• To secure your requested dates, please complete and return the required forms as soon as possible.

• A non-refundable and non-transferable deposit is required to lock in your booking.

Health & Safety

Poppy’s Pad operates a strict no-bite policy. While I do everything in my power to settle, soothe, and comfort your dog, the safety of everyone in the home is paramount.
